ON-GOING CLASSES

Because of high demand, and in fairness to all, classes must be prepaid with non-refundable check or cash directly to the teacher in order to assure a place in class. Calling in does NOT guarantee a place. Fees may be mailed or brought into Saratoga Needle Arts. At that time you will be given a list of supplies necessary for the class. In some cases, it is recommended to purchase your supplies in advance of the class. Students receive 10% off all required materials for the class. Every effort will be made to make up classes due to inclement weather or teacher illness. Refunds only in event of teacher cancellation. The On-Going classes meet every week at the assigned time. You may take one class...or more!

WHEN COMING TO CLASS, IT WOULD HELP TO HAVE THE FOLLOWING “BASICS” IN YOUR BAG:

Stitch Markers, Tape Measure, Sharp Scissors, Blunt Tapestry Needle, Crochet Hook - small and large, Pen/Pencil/Eraser & Small Notebook Please Turn Cell Phones Off!

SPRING 2009 CLASSES

FAIR ISLE BAG
June 1 & 29 (2 Mon) 6:00-8:00pm                     Cost: $30
This patterned bag can be felted or not.  It can also be beaded or not.  It is a great way to practice your two hand two color technique.  If you already know how to manage color this way, it can be a good project to refresh/practice your skills.  If you don’t already know how to use both hands for color management, it is a great way to learn.  The samples are made with bright colors to enhance some of Carol’s favorite southwestern patterns, but you can mute these colors for a more neutral look. Homework before class. Instructor: Carol Puntel. Level: Intermediate/Advanced.

CROCHET A GRANNY BAG
June 16 & July 7 (2 Tues) 6:15-8:15pm             Cost: $30
The first class we will begin crocheting granny squares. Return to the second class ready to assemble your sling or satchel. Handle options and linings will be discussed. Instructor: Carol “Cookie” Hornung. Level: Advanced Beginner. Basic crocet experience helpful. Class min: 3. Class max: 8.

FIX IT
June 22 (1 Mon) 6:00-9:00pm                       Cost: $22.50
Some of you know about humility stitches, but there are times when humble means actually having to fix something.  Do you want to learn how to pick up those pesky dropped stitches (even when you are working in pattern or they have dropped down more than one row)?  Do you want to learn about “frogging” and “tinking”  and getting your stitches back on the needle with them all going in the right direction?  What happens if you finish the row and there are too many or too few stitches?   Are your yarn overs going in the correct direction?  How about your increases and decreases?  Is there a hole in your garment (or socks) that you want to repair?  What happens when you get all done and the sweater is too big or too small----is there a way to fix this other than giving it away?  Come to this class and learn these and other “Fix-It” techniques to help reduce your stressHomework to be done before class.Instructor: Carol Puntel. All skill levels.

STORE POLICY

PrePayment insures a place in class.  Please stop in or mail payment into Saratoga Needle Arts as soon as possible with cash or check payable to the Instructor.

With most classes, it’s helpful to purchase your materials in advance and have your yarn prewound if necessary. This will insure that you have a full two hour class time!

Customer Service

When you buy any project from us, we are very happy to help you!  Some days are busier than others, and we can’t give you the time you’d like (such as weekends!). Because of this, we are so pleased to have Christene Kapitan on our staff who will give you the undivided attention you deserve on Thursday afternoons from 4-6pm!

Copyright

Many people ask us to copy patterns for them. Please understand that not only is this practice illegal, but it’s important to us that we support designers. Without them, we wouldn’t have all these wonderful projects!

We do have some free patterns that are available with yarn purchases.

We ask you to understand this policy, and help us in encouraging wonderful designs by both well-known and up-and-coming designers.

Store Return Policy

We will take returns of yarn up to 4 months of purchase. Sale yarns and special orders are nonreturnable. We refund credit cards, but need to issue store credit for cash or check purchases. No returns on needles, books or patterns or prewound yarn.

Special Orders or items we normally don’t carry in stock will require 1/2 down deposit, with a bag of 10 as the usual minimum. No returns on special orders.
